Jesus paints an almost unimaginable picture of the future: which involves suffering, trials, and destruction; beginning with the false prophets and ending in the glorious return of Christ. And he paints this picture not that we would be worried, paralysed, or scared, but that we may be encouraged to act, knowing that we are empowered by his Holy Spirit.
