God takes great delight in using us to answer our own prayers. I think this teaches that prayer is often like that old saying. You can give a person a fish and feed them for a day, or you can teach them to fish and you have given them not just food for a life time, but you have given them meaning, purpose, hope, resilience, joy, you have given them a story. Zero to hero, that’s Nehemiah.
What are our rituals? Why do we do them? Are they really helpful or are we using them to avoid real change?
A clear conscience that can truely serve the living God doesn’t come through tradition, rather it comes from the forgiveness of our gracious God through the blood of Jesus.
