1 Peter 4:12-19 – Why follow this way of Jesus, why deny ourselves, why bring this kind of suffering on ourselves when others scheme to be living it up and getting off scot-free?
Sunday Messages @ Stockton Anglican
1 Peter 4:7-11 – God acts through us and in relationship with us. It is as we strengthen and nurture our relationship with God through Jesus, that we become vessels of grace, vessels manifesting his glory in our lives.
1 Peter 3:19-4:6 – Let us surprise the world with a demonstration of grace, with commitment to the faith, with an example of Godly living and with our resilience in the face of opposition.
1 Peter 3:8-18 – A beautiful image of a community that cares for each other and supports each other through thick and thin. A community that is so attractive, that others may actually want to be part of it.
1 Peter 3:1-7 – A healthy view of marriage involves both celebrating our differences and embracing our equality in Christ.
1 Peter 2:11-25 – Every conversation we have is about influencing the other person, every thought whether spoken or not, is attempting to influence us and every desire of the body whether it be hunger, sleep or sexual is attempting to influence us. We are all about influence.
1 Peter 2:3-10 – Whether we like it or not, the world will give us an identity and assign us a value. Only in Christ can we truly escape and become part of something that is precious, beautiful and eternal.
1 Peter 1:13-2:3 Peter is going to show us a path into holiness, and to be holy means to be perfect, and unlike the world’s path to so called perfection, this path is not only achievable, but it isn’t arrogant, it isn’t dangerous and it certainly isn’t self serving.
1 Peter 1:1-12 “Delayed gratification, it is not only important if you want to be successful in a worldly sense, but it is also important if you want live the Christian life..”
